Gibb Rishes Monologue, Cambridge Festival of Ideas - October 2010

Gibb Rishes Monologue, Cambridge Festival of Ideas - October 2010 - Premiere.  The Mumford Theatre, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge

Gibb Rishes Monologue constituted a very rich and original evening’s entertainment.  Anne L Ryan has perfected her ‘vocal theatre’ by smoothly synthesising lively clowning techniques with her polished and emotional vocal performance. The result was a continuous flow of lively vocals and drama, expressed particularly through a wide variety of songs, drawn from diverse traditions, yet integrating most successfully. It was a virtuoso performance that was emotionally full-bodied, sensitive, satirical, warm and outgoing.  It was great theatre, an impressive development of an exciting new genre.
