Workshops

My workshops are a creative safe space in which to work with the mind-body approach to expressing sound and movement. My work integrates many ways to explore verbal and non-verbal communication through the physical body, making movement and working with the breath to release improvised sound. This has been a consistent focus of my workshops over many years. By improvising with sound in this way, tensions and holding patterns in the body can be liberated. The mind is rested and freed up, and a space opens for new ways to express our individual unique way of being.

Sound workshop:  Being in the body sound-bridge.  A body, movement, breath and sound workshop facilitated by Anne L Ryan

Being with our body, encouraging slow movement, and focusing gently on the breath, our body becomes relaxed. Taking time to tune to our own rhythm, our body slows into motionlessness. From a deep quiet space, we tune to the impulse to resonate sound. As our sound connects with our body, this resonance opens the body’s sound portal. From this place, we work with resonance to shape our inner-landscape into body-sound movement.

As we work with the sound of resonance in our body, we connect with a tranquil space within.  When this is repeated over time, the body is replenished and revivified. This opens a space for the expression of our individual body-sound and our unique way of being.

  • Workshop: up to 14 participants
  • Wear loose clothing
  • Bring a pillow or head support block if you need it
  • Bring a rug/mat to lie on, and a blanket for warmth
  • Bring your own water
  • Cost: £35 per person
